Caring for Pudsey Cemetery. Remembering the people here.
The Friends help care for the cemetery and chapel, support practical action days and record the stories of people buried here.
We have a simple purpose. We want Pudsey Cemetery to be cared for, understood and treated as the important civic site it is.
We work alongside Leeds City Council Bereavement Services, which maintains the grounds. The Friends are volunteers, and action days are designed so people can help when they are able.

What the ground holds
Pudsey’s history, one row at a time.
Families, neighbours, workmates and former civic leaders are buried here. Recording their memorials helps keep that part of Pudsey’s history available to everyone.
- 100 memorials to casualties of both World Wars
- 60 service personnel graves, 48 CWGC-registered
